Boneride: Arms of mercy
27/03/12 || BamaHammer
Boneride. That’s their name. Make your joke now. It’s easy. It’s also way more fun to say “boner-ide” than “bone-ride”. I’m not entirely sure what to think about this, really. They’ve got the stoner thing going for them a little and remind me of Danzig about every 19 seconds, but other than that, I can tell that this just isn’t my thing. The guitar riffs are good groovy, heavy metal riffs with a touch of doom, but they just don’t do a whole lot for me. Music like this, for me anyway, needs to be extremely catchy to keep me interested simply because I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the clear lack of technical skill that it takes to produce such a record. “Arms of mercy” is basically just a boring demo that brings nothing new or interesting to the table. Period. At least they’ve got that unfortunate moniker going for them.
3/10 good “Danzig II” memories.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
